The Acumen 2012 Conference is the first of what will be a premier annual event for senior managers in the power networks industry.
The 1 1/2 day conference will focus on the opportunities and challenges for the successful development and implementation of smart grid technologies, ensuring they are aligned for effective business outcomes. The event will bring together technology providers and network owners to share strategic insights for smart grids. It will provide an opportunity to gain first-hand perspectives from these parties and other key industry players. The sessions will address best practices and hard won lessons drawn from products and projects; they will explore emerging technology trends and their implications for network design and operation, diagnostics and field support, and wider management and regulatory considerations. This Conference is not a product showcase or sales platform however it will include a small exhibition area for viewing during breaks.

The focus will be electricity networks while recognising the increasing importance of interactions in areas such as generation and storage, and the likely cross-sector opportunities involving, for example, communications, gas, heat or water.
